Are you working 24/7 and still have a lot on your plate? Each one of us is struggling to make time for things other than work.

With so much work pressure, spending time with your loved ones, or even pursuing a hobby, seems like a distant dream.

All you need to do is to get things in order and increase your productivity at work. Remember, it is not always about working hard but working smart.

7 Tips to Increase Productivity

1. Avoid Multi-Tasking

You may think you can handle multiple things with efficiency. On the contrary, you might not be giving full attention to the tasks assigned.

Focus on one work at a time and then move to another. This will allow you to finish all your tasks with full dedication.

To put it plainly - multitasking is scientifically impossible because that is not how our brains were designed to work.

2. Use 90-Minute Work Intervals

Admit it, you cannot go on working non-stop. Your productivity level cannot be at an all-time high.

Break down work into 90-minute chunks, and you can achieve much better results. Give your brain a much-needed break after 90 minutes and get back to work with a fresh mind.

The 2-minute rule also works perfectly. Try to wrap up tasks that can be done in 2-minutes or less and allocate the remaining time for other major events.

Take regular intervals, go for a short walk, and catch up with your colleagues over a coffee, head out for small lunch breaks one is going to judge you or your work ethic as long as you finish it effectively on time.

3. Reduce Distractions

We are surrounded by electronic gadgets. It is hard to concentrate at work with the continuous bombardment of e-mails, texts, messages, and news updates.

To improve your productivity at work, turn off your mobile notifications or keep your phone in the drawer, to avoid any kind of distraction.

Make sure you set aside time to go through your e-mails and respond to them.

You can also use your daily commute. Instead of playing games on your phone or spending all the time watching your favorite series, you can check your e-mails, make a to-do list, or brainstorm work ideas.

Also, you could use your commute time to check in with friends and family, read audiobooks, and simply relax.

4. Say No to Pointless Meetings

Work productivity comes only when you learn to say no to unnecessary tasks.

Work on your day-to-day calendar, give priority to tasks that need your immediate attention, and analyze work that can be prevented.

Avoid any meetings that are not necessary. Instead, initiate meetings online or over a simple phone call, or use e-mail communications to plenty of time, money, resources, and energy.

5. Set a Deadline for Important Tasks

Sometimes, taking stress can help and bring out productivity in you. If you have an important task at hand, set a deadline, and stick to it.

You will notice that you are much more focused than before and can meet deadlines sooner than expected. So, go ahead and set yourself deadlines.

6. Brighten Up Your Workstation

Productivity at work can increase manifold if your office space is colorful and nicely lit up.

If you have a cubical, paste pictures on the wall or board, keep some green plants, and make your workspace look bright and aesthetically pleasing.

It’s a great way to uplift your mood and to boost your productivity.

7. Use Transcription Services

There are various ways to save time and manage your work efficiently.

For example, if you have some transcribing work and don’t have much time, you can always use apps on your smartphone.

For long and critical document transcriptions, you can rely on transcription service providers such as GMR Transcription which make your life much easier.

Audio to text transcription, video transcription services, etc. are offered by several companies providing Transcription services that not only transcribe but also give a much sharper and well-written document.

Methods to increase your productivity at work are not as challenging as you may think.
